In the referendum held on May 21st 2006 in Montenegro, 55.5 per cent of citizens have indicated Montenegro's independence.
Montenegro's independence was announced on June 3rd, while on June 28th of that year Montenegro became a 192th member of the United Nations, while on May 11, 2007, a member of the Council of Europe.
