The White House has said that “still has hope” that the planned summit between the northeastern leader, Kim Jong Un and American President Donald Trump will be held despite the Phenjan threat that he will cancel this historic event.
“We still have hope that the meeting will be held and we will continue in this direction”, White House spokeswoman Sarah Saunders said during an interview for Fox News.
“at the same time, we are prepared as these negotiations can be difficult”, she said further.
Sanders has said the president is ready if this meeting is held. If not, we will continue with maximum pressure, which has so far been”.
Westerners made these comments after North Korea threatened to cancel meeting with Trump, due to joint US and South Korean military exercises, notes REL.
The meeting between Trump and Kim is scheduled for 12 June in Singapore.
