Tahiri: Through dialogue with Serbia, we restored sovereignty to northern Mitrovica

Kosovo has managed through Brussels' dialogue to establish justice and establish the border in the northern part, turning state authorities into that part. Thus stated former negotiator in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue Edita Tahiri at the” Women's Action in Policy” conference, organised by the Centre for Training and Gender Studies, where the role [...] has been discussed.
So stated former negotiator in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue Edita Tahiri at the” Women's Action in Policy” conference, organised by the Centre for Training and Gender Studies, where it is talked about the importance of women's role in political life.
Tahiri said the dialogue in Brussels has been very controversial and there have been numerous successes where Kosovo has managed to extend sovereignty with its state institutions in the north, which have not been ahead of dialogue.
This very controversial dialogue, with paradoxes and controversy, has achieved major successes with the integration of the northern part of Kosovo into Kosovo's state system, judicial-coherent. Kosovo has managed to extend sovereignty in the northern part with state institutions that have not been ahead of dialogue. We all know when the war ended, thanks to some UNMIK concessions, in a way Serbia managed to put some parallel structures in the north and manipulate with a Serb part by introducing them into those structures. It was this Brussels dialogue that continues for the next 7 years that we managed to eliminate the parallel structures of Serbia in relevant areas, such as the Serb parallel police, parallel Serbian customs”, Tahiri said.
Kosovo's former negotiator in the dialogue with Serbia praised that for a lasting peace, women must have a central role in leadership positions, but also at other levels.
Tahiri said that with her being placed at the helm of negotiations with Serbia, Kosovo has provided a very good example of the female's importance in major issues.
I believe in the future this report changes, especially in the final phase of this Brussels dialogue, where it is expected to be finalised with mutual recognition between the two states. Peace is ours, but to achieve lasting peace, we have many jobs, until reconciliation between Albanians and Serbs in Kosovo we have a lot of work”, Tahiri said.
While Kosovo Parliament Speaker Driton Lajci's adviser, said the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is important for interethnic harmony, while calling for increased co-operation between Albanians and Serbs.
Kosovo-Serbia “Dialog is important for normalising reports between the two states, as it now says with mutual commitment agreement of legal character. Very important, though, are the reports within us. Our communications and reports within, our reconciliation with Serbs, is also of particular importance. So from our perspective, we encourage co-operation between universities, youth and student organisations, learning each other's language, removing prejudices which are among our biggest opponents, Lajci said.
He also spoke of the road to EU integration with Cérast, said Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli, remains committed to Kosovo meeting recommendations stemming from the European Commission's progress report.
Carmen Meier, director of CFD, stressed that there is no possibility of having peace without equal participation. While EU Office Chief Adviser Annette M. Fahth-Lihic, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the number of women's ambassadorships that the EU has, saying this leaves to be desired.
Otherwise, European Integration Minister Gift Hoxha has cancelled her participation at this conference at the last moment, since, according to the announcement, there was an unprecedented meeting.
