Even though they have not given any date for transforming the KSF into the army, government leaders are expressing confidence that transformation will occur very soon.
They cited this as an opportunity to do so even through the advancement of the legal base.
But this is being rejected by the accredited embassies in Kosovo.
Sweden's Ambassador to Kosovo, Henrik Nilsson, for RTV 21 said the transformation should occur through constitutional changes.
“We are the first to have recognised Kosovo and know that every state has the right to self-rule and decision making when it comes to security policies. But our recommendation is that the transformation of the KSF into the military be made through constitutional changes”, he said.
Swedish diplomat said she's working closely with various acts, like: Government and civil society, to bring Kosovo to the EU.
Speaking of the visa liberalisation process, he said Sweden supports Kosovo in this process.
The “is important for Kosovo set up by the European Commission”, Nilsson said.
