We respect Serbia's position, and that solution, which she thinks is best for her, we will support, has given Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandar Chepurin.
He has declared Russia would support partitioning Kosovo if Serbia thinks it is the best solution for it.
This has been stated by Chepurin commenting on Serbian diplomacy chief Ivica Dacic's statement that “Albanians would accept the partition of Kosovo and that this is in their interest”.
“I don't see why we should break our feet to solve this issue so quickly, the Russian ambassador to Belgrade has said with emphasis that Russia will support any decision of Serbia, because, as he says, the old slogan is still worth it: “What's good for Serbia, well for Russia”
For Moscow it is only important that the solution, which is offered to be in Serbia's interest. There is no doubt that the Government of Serbia, Mayor Vuciq and Minister Dacic have done what is best for the country”, the Russian ambassador has said.
I begged him to comment statements coming from Brussels that Serbia should eventually turn its back on Russia, he has replied that “will never come to this”.
