A real “Forest Gump” runs 25 thousand miles

Tom Hanks no doubt shone in Forest Gump's role, but he would hardly have thought that one of the greatest fans of the legendary character would decide to perform the long run presented in the film. Liverpool veterinarian Rob Pope, otherwise known as “True Forest Gump”, ran for 25 [...]
Liverpool veterinarian Rob Pope, otherwise known as “True Forest Gump” ran for 25 thousand miles, or 590 marathons, before deciding he was tired and asked to go home.
Pope actually ran more than Forest Gump, but his clothes, during the run that lasted for more than a year, were identical to those famous characters.
The British veterinarian was 38 years old, as much as Gump was in the movie when he started running across America, which he traveled across and around.
Pope ran some 40 miles [60 km] a day for 422 days, during which, however surprising, he also became the father of a beautiful girl.
His girlfriend Nadine chased him from behind on this trip to which Pope visited all the places Forest Gump visits in the movie. The run even ended him in the middle of the Arizona Desert, just like Hank in the movie.
The last scene was the only change, after Rob Pope asked his girlfriend for his hand and she said yes.
