The Commission for Foreign Affairs, Diaspore and Strategic Investment examines the State Platform Project for finalising dialogue between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia for normalising relations between the two states.
Otherwise, days ago this dust has been sent by the Government to the Assembly, where it mandates President Thaci to lead the negotiations.
This one-page-and-a-half-text platform, which contains nine points, envisions the dialogue being concluded with mutual recognition.
The government says it has approved this platform, being committed to building peace in the region, for good neighbourly relations with the countries of the region, and by reconfirming that Kosovo respects international agreements.
With this platform, Kosovo insists that dialogue be closed with internationally binding legal agreements through which there should be mutual recognition between the two states. It authorised to hold talks on achieving the legal agreement.
This is a full document:
Being committed to building a lasting peace in the region, and for good neighbourly relations with all countries in the region,
Taking into account the political unity that exists in Kosovo for the quick membership of Kosovo in the UN, the European Union and the NATO Pact,
Reconfirming that the Republic of Kosovo respects international agreements and acknowledging the importance of their implementation in compliance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and its decisions;
The government of the Republic of Kosovo has approved the proposal for the state-run platform for finalising dialogue between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia for normalising relations between the two states, which is proceeding with the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament for further review:
State platform
For finalising dialogue between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia, for normalising relations between two states
The Kosovo Republic Assembly insists that dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia should be concluded with an internationally binding legal agreement through which mutual recognition should occur between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia.
The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo estimates that the signing of the internationally binding legal agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia will enable the full normalisation of relations between the two neighbouring states, respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo strongly supports the EU's extenuating role and US support for achieving the internationally binding legal agreement, as well as ensuring its comprehensive implementation.
The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo estimates that the internationally binding legal agreement will enable the Republic of Kosovo membership in the UN, and in all other international relevant organisations in which it is not member.
The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo estimates that the internationally binding legal agreement will deepen Kosovo's membership process in the NATO Pact and the EU.
The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo confirms that the president of the Republic of Kosovo and the Kosovo Delegation, which will be established in co-ordination with the entire political spectrum, in full respect of political unity in the country, are authorised to hold talks on reaching the international legal agreement binding.
The Kosovo delegation to talks on normalising relations with Serbia, given the circumstances and needs that will be sought by the EU, could also be represented by other representatives of Kosovo institutions.
The president of the Republic of Kosovo is obliged to report on the regular grounds of the Kosovo Assembly, the lines of dialogue between the delegations of the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia.
The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo is the supreme authority, which will ratify the internationally binding legal agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia.
