Kurt's next man hits Shpend Ahmeti: She can't help but respond to oligarch invitations on the yacht

Yesterday at the Foreign Convention of the Social Democrat Party, its chairman, who was elected yesterday, Shpend Ahmeti, stinging Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti, said her PSD delegates do not need to look poorer and behave differently than they are. Ahmeti referred to a public statement by Albin Kurti, [...]

Ahmeti referred to a public statement by Albin Kurti, who had said that political activist, once in politics, must be poor and not enriched.

This prompted numerous reactions after media reports, writes Periscopi.

Vetevendosje Headship member Arber Zami, known as Kurt's close activist, has today returned a reply to Shpend Ahmeti, despite not mentioning his name.

He wrote via Facebook that there has never been asked in VV to look poor, but there have been demands on the wealthy activists to consume with greater restraint and modesty, as he writes, to preserve the cohesion in Movement (Vetvendosje) and society.

We in Vetevendosje, as real Social Democrats, never asked anyone to look poor. We have simply asked those who are rich to consume their wealth with restraint and modesty, to preserve cohesion in movement and society, to walk together towards the construction of economic and state development, without setting aside the reduction of inequalities”, Zaimi wrote.

And Shpend Ahmeti was stinging for “Scandal” media on the yacht, when he was photographed on the Devolley Brothers' yacht. This had happened while he was part of the Vetevendosje Movement.

They can't help but respond to oligarchs' yacht ride invitations... These too are not new phenomena. To the west, they're known to the term “tertiary caviari” or “conionalists””, he wrote.

Zaimi has provided an example of a documentary of one of the foreign media, which compared the lifestyle of the Albanian and Scandinavian millionaire.

Through this example he argues that the modest Scandinavian spirit eventually proved better than the individualist spirit of Albanians.

“Several years ago a media (Foreign) had made a short documentary showing differences between a Scandinavian millionaire and an Albanian millionaire. Mostly the differences presented concerned lifestyle, the Scandinavian was characterized by modesty and restraint in demonstrating or consuming its wealth (power), the Albanian, on the contrary, demonstrated and consumed it with tasteless bullying. One might rush to say that the difference lies in the individual's history, Scandinavian the old Albanian and Albanian zing, and it is known that the latter are noted for their generosity and lack of culture and taste. But the difference is deeper if you take into account the common code of modesty in Scandinavian, or Jante law, and the pride and individual pride of Albanians, which we find documented from the 19th century in travelers who came to romanticize this “eagle nation”. Of course, in Facebook you can only do overemphasis, but in the end, Scandinavians were better off with modesty and collective spirit than Albanians, the desire to appear, and individualism”, he wrote. /Periscopi/
