In a issued communiqué, workers in addition to serious working conditions reportedly face gender-based discrimination.
Full communication:
Kosovo continues to be the country with the highest unemployment in the region, while women and young people are mostly affected by the serious situation in the labour market. Besides disobeying the Labour Law, and violating workers' rights, gender-based discrimination in the workplace negatively affects improving the current labour market situation.
Therefore, in order to eliminate any kind of gender-based discrimination and create a free and equal working environment for all genders, the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) has drafted a regulation against sexual harassment, enabling the creation of a mechanism that will help prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.
KDI called on you and invited all government and nongovernmental institutions to join this initiative for the drafting of internal policies which ensure an equal and free working environment for all, despite gender differences.
