From the government, no details of the option acceptable to the Macedonian and Greek government yet reveal, as a possible solution to the name issue, nor media speculation concerning the name “Republic of Macedonia of Ilinden”.
Everything is expected to be clarified Saturday at the Freedoms meeting called by the prime minister, Zoran Zaev, where political and state leaders will take over.
In the opinion from last night, the proposal “Republic Macedonia and Ilindine” circulates. Until officially this proposal is commented, as such it was rejected by the Greek media. For the daily “Ta Nea”, Skopje media are openly provocatively promoting Ilinden's “Macedonia's Macedonia “proposal, which refers to a battle held for the establishment of a Slavic state in Macedonia that included Greek territories.
So as such this unacceptable proposal for the Greek side cannot be the sixth proposal at the negotiating table in Sofia. Citing government sources, the media in the southern neighbour write that the upper “Macedonia “is the possible solution proposed by European officials during yesterday's summit in Sofia, while there is also the possibility of New Macedonia's “proposal.
It remains unknown what else but the name contains the full option, respectively how this option defines identity, including language, culture and citizenship; what the scope of using the new name will be; and whether the Constitution will change; how and when the agreement will be implemented.
However, Greek media report that Greek Prime Minister Alexis Cypras over the weekend, Greek President and parliamentary party leaders, will tell them the news that Greece has not been deterred by its demands, which means that the IRJM will change the Constitution and that the new name will be used by erga omnes.
