Political parties are not interested in holding early elections. Seting the election date with the reconciliation of all parties is impossible at this stage.
Although the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) is insisting on the collapse of the Government and the election body as short as possible, as there is no support for opposition parties, Online Economy reports.
LDK Parliamentary Group chief Avdullah Hoti says that if there is no agreement between political parties on the appointment of the election date, they will use constitutional institutional mechanisms.
“We're not seeing will in this direction, so I believe that at the next table we have to coordinate to conclude whether there is agreement between the political parties on the date of elections and these actions that I mentioned or we will use constitutional institutional mechanisms to lead the country to elections”.
From the moment the Serbian List was withdrawn from the government two months ago, the executive does not have the parliamentary majority to govern the country, says Hoti.
He has stressed that in a parliamentary democracy, the moment the government does not have the parliamentary majority itself must initiate a self-confidence motion.
“Now now has two months since the Government does not have the majority in Kosovo's parliament, in the way the state of Kosovo is organised as a parliamentary democracy means that the country's Government always has the majority in the country, at the moment the prime minister does not have to initiate a self-confidence motion”
“ ... we have seen that they have no institutional responsibility, neither the prime minister nor the chairman of the Assembly as the two carriers of institutions that have emerged from the citizen's vote, and as a result we have initiated the political parties' table to agree together on the election date so that we do not send the country to elections within 30 days”, Hoti said.
“We have given dialogue before taking democratic constitutional actions to lead the country to new elections because in parliamentary democracy the country cannot be led by the minority government”.
