The European Union is expecting powerful evidence from local institutions in fighting organised crime and corruption so that the last remaining visa liberalisation criteria with Kosovo can also be met.
Senior EU officials have stated that once the European Commission estimates that the last criterion for visa liberalisation has been met by the Kosovo side, then the EC proposal must be approved by the European Parliament and ultimately by the Council of Ministers.
“We hope that this process will soon be completed”, EU officials have declared, adding that while the EC assessment is under way, then any progress Kosovo will report will help EU institutions come up with positive decision on visa liberalisation.
