Manbiy Military Council spokesman Sharfan Darwish, who has the backing of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), has said the United States Army has established bases. About three months ago, Turkey threatened to extend its authority to the northern Syria region.
“After Turkish attacks on Africa and Turkey's growth towards Manbiy, the Allied forces built bases to monitor and protect borders”, Darwish said.
The remarks came after Syrian Army Commander Ahmed Osman confirmed “Sputnik” that Turkish and American officials are in intensive talks on Manbiy's fate.
During this week, some reports have written that a United States military convoy has headed for Manbiy, reports “Sputnik International” Transmission Periscope.
According to Turkish news agency “Anadolu News”, the United States is building two military bases in the Manbiy region, which is reserved for 300 soldiers.
Turkey aims to gain control of Manbiy as part of the military operation codenamed “Khrahs of Oliver”, which started on January 20th 2018./Periscopi/
