They stole about 10,000 turtles that were kept in severe condition (Video)

Nearly ten thousand rare turtles have been found living in a two - story house in southwest Madagascar.

Soary Radrianjafizaka, from an animal - rights organization, has said that near the turtle - covered building, there was a strong, very unusual odor, it transmits Telegrafi.

After much complaints, the police have been forced to break in to marvel at the find of animals living in cruel conditions.

The turtles of various sizes had taken all the floor spaces with very little opportunity to maneuver.

Three persons have been arrested for theft and in inappropriate conditions. They are believed to have been stolen and intended for the Asian market, where they are bought for meat as well as by rappers.

Turtles loaded in six trucks were sent to a reserve, where they will be kept for a time to settle, and later released free.
