The law on permanent and temporary residence in Serbia, adopted in 2011, is impeding the citizens of the Presevo Valley who have moved to Kosovo to attend the legal procedures for regulating Kosovo's legal status, writes Koha Ditore today.
According to the Ombudsman Institute's report on the civil rights of Albanians from Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac, displaced in the Republic of Kosovo, this is happening for the fact that based on this law, Serbia's state is paying off evidence to citizens who do not find them in registered settlements and is trying to access them with personal documents.
Lack of documents, according to the report, displaced citizens in Kosovo since 2001, has been unable to access the equipment even with Kosovo documents.
