German investigators are working to understand the motives of the person who hit the crowd in the town of Muenster with his car. Two people were killed from this incident and then the suspect killed himself.
German authorities have said the victims are a 51-year-old woman from Lueneburg and a 65-year-old man from Borken, located near Menster, broadcast Reuters.
“According to available data, the driver has been a 48-year-old from Munich”, public prosecutor Martin Botzenhardt said through a statement.
There are no indicators for a criminal background after this event”, the statement has been issued.
Police have said the suspect shot himself by gun after he hit the area where the restaurants were located.
The German daily Frankurter Allgemeine Zeitung has said the suspect is Jens R., 48 years old.
