Trier, the German town where Karl Marx was born, celebrated his 200th birthday on April 13th. This town launched a 0 euro bill with Marks' face and name on it, but costing 3 euros.

Trier, located in southern Germany, and has finally launched a broad campaign to celebrate the birthday of German philosopher and economist, but with a clearly capitalist decision, which got all attention.
The bills, which looked like Euros, were available in the office of tourists in Trier and throughout the city.
It is said that up to 5,000 such bills were sold in Trier, and that another 20,000 were planned to be sold. Marks was known as a major critic of the capitalist system, writes Periscopi.
The city has also changed some of the traffic signs by adapting to Marks' image, and making another statue for the author of “Capital”, which is financed by the Chinese government that weighs three tons.
