Makovci residents seek road safety growth

Arben Krasniqi has indicated that this is only the first protest, saying that if Police and Infrastructure Minister Pale Lekaj do not take measures in the short term, they will take something themselves.

This is the first protest today. A week ago there was a fatal accident. Three months ago there was another fatal accident that left a 5-year-old dead. We had begged you to take action, first the police, and second, Pale Lekain, the minister of infrastructure who drinks every night and doesn't think of people. There's a lot of accidents here. Today's the first day, but if they don't do something very quickly, we're gonna do something ourselves that's illegal. We have to do something ourselves because it's not normal. We all have kids, and very quickly they drive this way”, he said.

Riyadh Krasniqi, head of the primary school “Ganimet Trbeshi”, reminded his friend who had lost his life in an accident, which, according to him, had occurred due to the driver's negligence, until he appealed to increase security in that area.

That guy who died here, I considered him like a brother of mine. I have shed many tears and there is no responsibility here. Refrain Ahmeti's citizens have given him the vote. He takes his children with jeeps and guards to school. And us? Take it easy. I have a little brother, they're also the endangered greats and leave me children”, Krasniqi said.

While Krasniqi lives, one of the protesters said police have started to frequent this area for two days, only after an accident occurred. He confessed how two weeks ago a person was left dead instead of having hit and thrown the wall of his court.

Otherwise, he said the lack of police has been observed for a very long time.

Police can almost control this road. Residents outside Makovci come driving for Gjilan extremely quickly. There's no patrol. We cannot leave our children alone, in no minute, on a bus, or at school. The route to Makovc is also frequented by citizens who take the road to Gjilan, and according to residents, drivers often know not to be careful while driving in a residential area.
