Kosovo Trust Pension Savings Board Chairman Ymer Havolli has suggested the number of active contributors to this fund is increasing. He has shown that the Trust has about 1.64 billion euros in management.
In this interview given to the newspaper “The new age”, he has also talked about the challenges facing this institution. On February 28th of this year, the number of active contributors was 234 878, while on the same date a year ago that number was 222 543. It should be noted, however, that in the first quarter, historically, the number of active contributors has occurred to be lower than in the next quarter. This is mainly related to the way employers report to ATK”, Havolli said. He has declared that the Trust's ongoing challenge is the preservation and increased value of pension contributions under management.
Havolly has shown that so far this institution has succeeded in facing this challenge, as, according to him, only from 2009 onward has it been achieved that some 360m euros are returned from investments. “Other challenges currently don't exist, since we've never had any unmanageable trouble or obstacle in the daily operations. This institution is strictly monitored by the Assembly of Kosovo, The CEC, the foreign audience and the interior audience, and so far there have been no findings signaling any problem of the fall in the face of legislation or regulations in force”, Havolli has indicated.
He has also responded to MPs' criticism of this institution and recommendations the Commission for Boards and Finance has made about salaries, additions and other compensation of employees and members of the FKP Steering Board. We announce that the Steering Board has formed an ad-hoc commission, which in all respects -- primarily legal, strategic and practical -- will carefully analyse the possibilities, benefits and consequences of implementing the Commission's recommendations on budgets and Finance. We should not forget nor overlook that in terms of professional aspect and expertise within the Trust, the 400m-euro positive returns from the institution's founding” speak the Havolli itself.
