Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Izmi Zeka has hosted a European Union delegation today. In the composition of this delegation were Gabor Iklody, leader of Crisis Management and Planning Department (CMPD), Javier Denisnga, Crisis Management and Planning Directorate (CMPD), Oliver Hoffmann Division for Operations Management (Administration and Civil Planning CPCC), John Manza (NATO), and other officials. EULEX's role and mandate in Kosovo was discussed at this meeting.
Through a media report, it becomes known that Deputy Minister Zeka stressed the approach of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Kosovo institutions in the assessment of the EULEX mission's work in Kosovo in the judiciary and police.
“As new institutions, the EULEX mission has helped build capacities for our road. But missions everywhere have a deadline and this mission has successfully completed its role in implementing the law in Kosovo”, Zeka stressed.
He noted that Kosovo's law enforcement institutions have full capacity and are capable of managing any situation. However, as he put it, the Republic of Kosovo cannot function without assistance from the EU and the United States.
He ultimately stressed that the inter-ministerial group is already making an assessment of the work of this mission, and on the basis of estimates that will come, the form of future co-operation will be seen.
