An international conference dedicated to combating terrorist financing has been held in France. Representatives of the world's eighty states, including from Kosovo, were participating, the Kosovo Interior Ministry announced.

The conference was organised by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), on the theme: “No Money for Terror” (S) Money for terror. Interior Minister Bejtush Gashi represented Kosovo, said in the statement, while its goal was to fight terrorism financing, namely, the Islamic State and al-Qaeda groups.

Participants pledged to strengthen their efforts in reducing the risk of terrorism. In this case, they agreed to share information from their intelligent services, co-operate in strengthening rule of law, co-operation between financial businesses, and technology industry.

Also, at this conference participants agreed to investigate funds dedicated to non-governmental organisations and charities.

Under this conference, Minister Gashi has held several bilateral meetings with representatives of INTERPOL member states, as they are: Germany, Singapore, Yemen, India, and others.

He also seized the possibility of tears for membership in INTERPOL, praising that Kosovo's support for membership in this organisation is equivalent to a more efficient fight against terrorism.

“Membership in this international organisation provides great opportunities for co-operation in fighting terrorism”, Gashi has said.
