A thermal power plant with the capacity to generate electricity of 480 megawatts will be established in the town of Korca.
All investment is set to cost 350m euros, Koha Ditore writes today.
Five months ago the Government of Kosovo has signed contracts to build a thermal power plant with a production capacity smaller than that of Albania (450 MW).
Compared to what will be built in Albania, New Kosovo's “thermal power plant will have fourfold higher costs, 1.3 billion euros respectively.
The power plant in Korca will be based on gas, while supplied by gas pipeline project TAP, whose distance is two miles [2 km] from the building facility.
