On the morning of April 14th, Israel has closed airspace over Golan's heights following the US, British and French air strikes on several targets in Syria, Israeli media report.
Tensions in this border area, which remains as a banned apple between Tel Aviv and Damascus, have raised tensions of an Israeli-Syrian conflict, reports “Sputnik International” Transmission Periscope.
2/3 of Golan's West (known in Syria as Government Quaitra) was annexed by Israel during the six - day war in 1967, and was repeatedly condemned by the United Nations in 1981 and 2008. The dispute over territories not only prevented states from signing a peace treaty between Syria and Israel, but also provoked secret attacks in border areas.
In February, a senior Israeli Defence Forces general alleged that the likelihood of war erupting at Golan's heights in 2018 was greater than ever between continued tensions in the Middle East and Iran's growing role in Syria. /Periscopi/
