Ten HIV-infected people have added to Kosovo within just one year. The number of people affected by SIDI is increasing annually.
QKUK Infectal Clinic Director Hamdi Ramadani tells of Infocus that currently in Kosovo there are 31 infected with this disease, while not knowing the reason which affects last year's growth, writes Infocus.com.
“Through the years the situation has not moved much, from 2-3 cases per year, while 2016 has marked an increase in cases of 10 sick, which we do not have very clearly this increase in the number of infected”, says Ramadani.
The average age of those affected by this disease, which are all Kosovo citizens, is about 30.
Currently, there are no children affected by this disease in the Infectious Clinic at QKUK.
The “that all the sick are from Kosovo, while a temporarily ill person is working abroad. The average age is about 30 years old”, Ramadani shows.
The director of this clinic points out that despite the rise of sufferers, there are no epidemiological signs in society.
Meanwhile, he has said that within KKUK, there is a strategy against H IV AIDS, which the strategy has professional teams engaged in.
However, the HIV virus, for the first time in Kosovo, was introduced in 1986 and 70 cases have been recorded since then, 28 of them have died, including a 13-year-old child.
