Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Diaspore and Strategic Investments Dardan Gashi, along with Albanian State Minister for Diaspora Pandeli Majko, in Zurich met the Albanian Business Network in Switzerland.
It's a pleasure to meet you both from Switzerland and Germany here at our Cultural Centre and to discuss joint projects. I think that the idea of opening a Diaspora Economic Ode in Pristina is a very important project and must be realised, not just as an idea. We in Kosovo have a large number of small and medium-sized businesses, but also large ones from the diaspora. A large percentage of production done in Kosovo is from diaspora companies”, said Minister Gashi.
He also informed businesspeople from Switzerland and Germany of the new diaspora business platform, which is expected to be promoted soon, and where businesses from all diaspora in electronic form could be linked to future projects and productive co-operation.
The meeting was joined by the Union of Albanian Businesses in Germany, as well as to discuss the possibilities of co-operation and implementation of joint projects by the two organisations in Kosovo and Albania.
We have already started working at the expert level to establish the Diaspora Bank in Kosovo. We believe that we will soon get concrete results”, said Bekim Brestovci, executive director of the Albanian Business Union in Diaspore.
Business demands were easing bureaucratic barriers inherited from the past to be eliminated, so that Kosovo is an attractive place for investment.
The policy people are referring to us by the folks. We need jobs and meetings like this, so we co-operate in concrete forms, which would be productive for all parties”, representatives of Germany's Union of Business said.
