Military Expenses
In the past five years, many of the Middle East countries have been involved in armed conflicts. About 32 percent of documented arms imports worldwide are located in this region.
Saudi Arabia has a significant budget for military spending, and both, Iran and the Saudi kingdom, are estimated to spend nearly $7 billion.
Saudi Arabia spends about 56 billion dollars. This does not include recently reached agreements with Spain and Britain, estimated to be about $3 billion.

Nearly 50 percent of Britain's weapons are sold toward Saudi Arabia, according to SIPRI. Most of them were used by Saudi Arabia in the Yemen war.
The Saudis also provide the rest of their weapons through the United States and European countries.
Economy
Iran:
Iran's economy has grown by 7.4 percent from 2016-2017. The International Monetary Fund has said this increase has come as a consequence of the rise in the oil market.
Financial analyst Navid Kolhar acknowledges that the increase is attributed to the oil trade the state of Iran has expanded worldwide.
Saudi Arabia:
Between January 2017 and January 2018, Saudi Arabia has marked negative results as part of reforms that authorities have undertaken to reduce oil-related dependence.
Oilmaking
Saudi Arabia:
Based on OPEC data, the Saudi kingdom is the largest oil exporter, with half of the country's GDP dependent on oil reserves.
In addition to oil, Saudia also exports natural gas, iron minerals, gold and copper.
Saudi Arabia produces more than 10 million barrels of oil per day, while another three million are used for internal consumption.
Iran:
According to “Global Firepower”, Iran officially produces more than four million barrels of oil per day -- 1.8 million which are provided for internal exploitation.
Iran and Qatar co-exist in the world's largest natural gas field, the South Pars in the open sea/North Dome. Iran's territory covers 2,000 square kilometers in the Persian Gulf.
