Erdogan talking Roma housing in Turkey, ignoring opposition demands

“If Roma citizens help us solve the land issue by forming co-operatives between them, we will help them by building their houses,” said Erdogan, “Hurriyet”, Periscopi broadcast.
These comments from him came after Republican People's Party opposition party leader (CHP) Kemal Khicdaroglu has criticised the Party for Development and Justice for “the insistence of Roma who live in the big cities” as part of the urban “project”.
“The housing projects have taken a break, because our ministry has not been able to finance the project due to the increase of land costs in towns”, he added, calling on Roma citizens to resolve the problem of growth in spending by forming co-operva”.
He said urban transformation projects have “made all happy except for a minority”.
Erdogan also warned that Roma citizens would also be provided education, better health services and employment insurance. /Periscopi/
