Brussels' spokesperson for Bulgaria's EU Presidency Genoveva Chervenkova told “Novosti” about Kosovo's status of independence.
“We are very aware of the importance of the issue of attitude towards Kosovo of members who have not recognised it, and with them on this issue we are working closely in bilateral ways,” said Chervenkova.
She stressed that Bulgaria's goal is to organise the summit for all 28 member states and present itself at the highest level, as well as send a message of union for the European integration of the Western Balkans, which is one of the priorities of the Bulgarian presidency, reports “b92”, the Periscopi broadcast.
“Novosti” states Bulgaria is now busy negotiating that it has started with Madrid to find the right solution.
The Serbian newspaper also stresses that Slovaks, who also do not recognise Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence, are considering participation modalities.
“While things stay at the moment, provided there are no unfavourable developments in the situation, Prime Minister Peter Pelegrini must represent Slovakia at the summit in Sofia, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be represented by State Secretary Ivan Korcok,” she added./Periscopi/
