Infrastructure and Energy Minister Damian Gjiknuri sheds light on negotiations that are under way between the government and the concession for the National Road fee.
The minister said that for Kukes residents who will use public transportation there will be no tariffs, while for those moving in private means there will be a fee that has not been imposed, as it is negotiating.
As for other Albanian citizens who will use the road, Kosovo Albanians and other countries will have no change, so they will pay 5 euros. And as he named the protests sparked by the opposition, the minister said it has not yet been decided whether there will be other ways to be offered with concessions.
The Kukes who use public transportation will not be affected by tariffs. For residents in private means, there will be reduced reasonable fees. For other Albanian citizens, Kosovo Albanians and citizens of other countries will not change fees -- 5 euros. We are in negotiations with the company and the residents of Kukes and pre-summer tariffs will be put into effect. The Tarifa will not influence the decline of vacationers from Kosovo”, Gjiknuri said at “Repolix”.
Another route that has turned into the centre of political debates is Tirana-Elbasan, which follows to receive funds but is not yet finished. Gjiknuri said that 18m euros is needed for the road, while the goal is to be completed in September of this year.
It also takes 18m euros for completion of the Tirana-Elbasan road. The target is to end in September.
