The 200-year-old house in Manhattan sells for $4.8m

A New York home built in the XIX century was sold for $4.8m a few days ago. Situated in the historic area at “Grenich Village” in Manhattan, its first owner was Aaron Burr, third vice president in U.S. history, serving with President Thomas Jefferson in 18011805. [...]
But besides politician's status, Burr is a famous US name after in 1805 he killed the First Treasury Secretary, Alexander Hamilton, at the same time as the Founding Fathers of the Nation, whose portrait is found in a 10-dollar bill.
According to real estate experts, it was Hamilton's name that increased the value of a two - story red brick house, even though it was built in 1830, 15 years after the most famous duel in U.S. history. It is already owned by Walton Ford, a contemporary painter whose works appear in the Museum of Modern Arts and the Museum of American Arts “Smithsonian”
