The Texas Medical Center said Anna Henry, 63, was conducting a procedure known as “in depth brain simulation”, hoping to address a situation known as essential vibration.
That caused Anna's hands to shake. The effect prevented her from engaging in activities, including eating and playing on her beloved instrument.
Doctors said that the operation involves the introduction of several small electrodes into the brain that provide a constant electricity.
The woman continued playing in the flute, an instrument she has been practicing since she was 11 years old, but she had to give up her trembling.
They distributed a video of her playing the instrument during the procedure to test whether the electricity was helping.
