Arsene Wenger said he trusted Captain Jack Wilshere's tape, which contracts to the club expire in the summer.
Wilshere reportedly refuses to accept a pay discount to stay in Arsenal, so talks on continuing the contract have stalled.
He's become captain several times this season and Wenger has spoken to him at World Sports.
“He's a leader because of attitude and tactical knowledge on the field”, Wenger said.
I just think that the combination of history, the fact that he's a player in this club for a long time, the fact that he has experience and knowledge now, makes me believe to make captain”, he added.
