Treatment Discovered for the Common Cause of Blindness

A treatment for the most common cause of blindness may be available within five years, scientists believe, as the first two patients to have produced a revolutionary stem cell therapy have recovered enough images to be able to read.

The breakthrough comes from the London project of “Cure Blendness”, a collaboration between London University Professor Pete Coffey and Professor Lyndon da Cruz.
