If you consume too much sugar per day, then you will not only risk your teeth ' health and weight gain but at the same time increase your risk of mental disorders, a new study shows.
Researchers have found that people who consume more than 27 ounces [67 g] of sugar a day are threatened by anxiety, depression, and other mental disorders within five years, compared with people who receive lower levels of sugar, the Kosovas transmits.
The author of the study, Anika Knüpppel from the Public Health Institute at University College in London and her colleagues, has reported their findings in Scientific Reports magazine.
Too much sugar consumption increases the risk of many health problems, including obesity, Type 2, diabetes, heart disease, and tooth problems.
Early studies have also shown that there may be a connection between overindulgence of sugar and increased risk of depression.
