Everyone may have been able to find himself in a sad, stressful environment during a certain career. However, there is a big difference between a day, a bad week and a long-term toxic environment at work.
Most employers do not talk about such unwholesome environments and keep silent because their salary may be the only income available to them.
But how do you know you're in a overwhelming environment at work? A group of British sociologists and psychologists have listed five signs, which not necessarily prove it.
First You feel victimized, where everything goes wrong is you. You're being rebuked, but they don't give you the answer to how the situation can be corrected. There is no clear direction, and you see yourself performing other duties.
Second No communication. Your meetings seem disorganized, there is a lack of concentration, and the uncertainty of what is happening on your work schedule is the general feeling. You always feel left out of the decision-making process, and your superiors never listen to you.
Third You have a constant sense of fear when you think you're going to work. This is the effect of a toxic environment on the job, which is reflected in all employees.
Fourth Because of your lack of organization, you find yourself working long hours, but despite that, you are neglected, deaf, and underestimated.
Fifth There's no limit or respect for your personal life, and your superior can call you and ask you to go to work on your vacation day, or you can return from your early annual permit.
