The ambassador of Great Britain to Kosovo, Ruairi O'Connell, has said much has been spoken about fighting corruption but lacking results.
According to him, the fight against this phenomenon should be permanent.
“There is no combating high-profit corruption, the high profile is intact so far we still don't have a decisive bias for a high-profile case unconditional”.
“We have spoken a lot about fighting corruption, the top judicial system officials themselves agree the results are missing that the fight against corruption should be permanent. Kosovo has a state but must become a state with a strong rule of law”.
The British made these comments at the table organised by the Kosovo Institute for Justice (IKD), with the theme “Fighting corruption, without control of judiciary”.
According to him, it has become a phenomenon that many cases if they go to the courts shut down in lack of evidence or even when there is evidence don't go to court at all,
You can become an example of corruption being unacceptable. There's no control in the judiciary. It's become a phenomenon unfortunately if they go to the courts they close in lack of evidence or there are cases of evidence, but they don't even go to court”.
“... should also accounteering so that even citizens should be provided access to public documents the judge should not fear transparency”.
