Kosovo-Albania trade exchanges are not fun, but are on the rise. Despite possible bureaucratic obstacles, Kosovo has the highest export rate in Albania, compared to other countries in the region. Trade Odas, however, must draft economic policies.
So said in an interview for KosovoPress, Albania's ambassador to Kosovo, Kemal Minxhozi, who has added that in terms of exports, Kosovo has a top destination for Albania.
Two hundred million euros in trade exchanges have been realised throughout the area of co-operation. ...where 150m euros Albania has exported to Kosovo and Kosovo has exported 50m euros. Of course that is a good figure, but still we are unhappy because even Albania's exports to Kosovo could be bigger, even vice versa. Albania as exporters to Kosovo ranks 6th or 7th. There are other countries that have more exports, but on the other hand, Kosovo has Albania's main destination for export. All countries of the region surrounding Kosovo do not jointly export Kosovo exports are smaller than they do with a small country called Albania”, Minxhozi said.
He has also said it is good to know before tests are done, that in Albania, Kosovo products are already in the market, but says the quality is what sells the product.
A good product sells itself. I will not go on advertising, but Kosovo's beer, wine companies are very successful in Albania and Albania gets more wine, gets more beer than it gets from around the region only from Kosovo. There are minerals in the field of waste, railways, Albania is a very important destination for Kosovo”, Minxhozi said.
Minxhozi added there is bureaucracy but thinks there's a solution. According to him, the economic Odas, that of Kosovo and Albania should make economic policies in order to present two governments.
“There are bureaucracys that sometimes Kosovo companies complain about companies as sisters in Albania or fiscal authorities in Albania, of course this is the process of competing, with a series of problems without lifting neglect, state that can be on both sides of the border ... but what I think we have to do with a positive trend and the way we deal with the problem that it is, I would say the Economic Odas, the commercial institutions of Albania and Kosovo should sit together to draw up development policies to make these governments present and the relevant governments also to make the legislative changes, Minx> said.
Minxhozi has also shown that agreements reached between the two governments are also on the right track.
” We have to make the possible issue so these difficulties can be reduced. Establishing the joint customs point I think will take place within April. I will iron out many things to then offer even common practices to have fewer bureaucracy and more exchanges“, Minxhozi said.
He hopes that this will happen and bureaucratic procedures in a near future will be removed.
