From 2003 onward, various international organisations, as well as the Government of Kosovo, have invested millions of euros in creating the most appropriate conditions for the return of Serbs who have shifted to the last war.
But most initiatives have been wasted, KTV reports.
Many houses and buildings have been built in different municipalities for that purpose, but most of them have never returned to the displaced.
Cases of Serb refusal to return to their built homes are also in several villages in Vushtrria.
The mayor of this municipality, Xhafer Tahiri, has called on Serb residents on this side to return to their homes.
The Kosovo government, led by Ramush Haradinaj, has now recently made a decision to adopt “Rule for the return of displaced persons and sustainable solutions”.
This regulation aims to create necessary conditions for the permanent care of displaced persons in Kosovo and the region, as well as the involvement of other relevant authorities in decision-making, implementation procedures and criteria for assistance to displaced persons.
According to government officials, the Ministry for Kthim, municipalities and municipalities are now tasked with implementing this regulation, but so far nothing has been done in this regard.
And at the Ministry for Return and Communities, they say they will implement it, but have not yet started to do anything about the return of the displaced except building houses.
Houses for such purposes have also been built in the Ferizaj municipality of Istog, Peja Decani, Mitrovica, Fushe Kosovo and Shrpca.
Even in Zvecan, with Serbian Government Investments, the sector is building “Sun Valley”, with about 300 houses.
