Economic Development Minister Valdrin Luka has said it is marking an important day for the IT sector since the document on Electronic Identification and Faithful Services in connection with Electronic Transitions was passed at the Government meeting yesterday.
To respond to the rapid pace with which Information Technology is being introduced to the public services of citizens, special attention is being paid to electronic signing, aware of the need to use this way to ensure more secure communication”, Luke said through a Facebook post.
According to him, this is the first step towards establishing the legal framework for electronic identification, electronic seals, electronic delivery service and authentication of websites.
This will enable us: Safe electronic identification, safe electronic transactions, authentication, safe electronic co-operation between citizens, businesses and public authorities, increasing the effectiveness of online and private and electronic trade services in the Republic of Kosovo, access to cross-border services online, and implementation of rules for functioning of a uniform regime for mutual recognition of electronic identification among the implementing states of the IDAS<1>, Luka has posted.
The Minister of Economic Development has indicated that the adoption of the new legal framework will address the challenges identified as, the fragmented digital market, lack of interaction and increased cyber crime, judicial uncertainty of consumers, businesses doing electronic transactions.
