From the Kosovo Customs data last year, over 800kg of meat from China worth about 3,500 euros was imported, while a greater amount had been imported in 2016, over 13 thousand pounds [13,000 kg], reports KTV.
These are not the only products being imported from China.
From there the tomato has also been imported, which in Kosovo as well as the region abounds.
And from January this year until March 21st, more than 37 thousand euros of onions and garlic have been imported from China and India.
The competition is also becoming a drug producer.
Large quantities of various drugs have been imported from China and India to Kosovo during 2015-2018, including acid, antibiotics, and other products.
Because of the large amount of import and complaints from producers about the negative impact these products have on the market, the state has finally begun to move.
In a short time, customs duties will be imposed for products derived from these countries.
Business associations have welcomed such a reaction, but have called for such actions to be taken more quickly.
Kosovo has agreements with the countries of the region through CEFTA and with EU states through a Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
