After more than a month's work on the Commission for Ratings of Sports, Sportsmen and Coachs, Kosovo Olympic Committee leaders have published on Wednesday the categories in which federations, athletes and trainers are involved.
The category of sports is divided into four categories, A, B, C and D. In category A, the Kosovo Federation of Judo and Karate are established by individual sports and four team federations (play, handball, basketball and volleyball).
The president of the Kosovo Olympic Committee, Besim Hasani, said the commission has done a great deal of work in classifying sports, athletes and trainers, and that after a long time an issue has lasted for years.
“After a long period and after an extremely big job that the different commissions have done, some of them belong to members of the Kosovo Olympic Committee's Executive Board of former compositions, but that has ended several days ago, and today we will do the presentation of these categories, and this is also due to the Ministry for Culture, Youth and Sports's demand, that this category be entrusted with the representatives of KOK as the central, cen and non-government organisation, Hasani, at the news conference.
Hasani stressed that with the categorying of sports, Kosovo is getting closer to countries that hold the sport.
Commission Chairman for Category of Sports, Sportsmen and Coachs Shasivar Hadzij, praising the commission's work, said the classification is in its final phase.
“According to sports classification regulations take place in four categories. In the A category, according to documents and criteria that have come to the Kosovo Olympic Committee, the commission has designated the Kosovo Judo Federation, which has received 83.1 points, the Kosovo Football Federation 77.37, the Federation of Kosovo Karate, and the third 70.79, the Kosovo Handball Federation 67.80, the Kosovo Basketball Federation 66.90, the 65.94 Volley Federation, these are the six federation that are in the first category 11x1>, Haxhij said.
Seven other federations make up the second category like: Athletica, boxing, swimming, table tennis, skiing, tennis and weightlifting. The other Federations are in category C, and the only one in category D is the Federation of Minigolf.
Hadijaj later also released the award for athletes, where champion in the category is Majlinda Kelmendi, with 100 points due to the Olympic gold medal. From Judo, the rankings also follow the Banstria Krasniqi (40 points), Nora Gjakova (40), Akil Gjakova (37.5), Loriana Kuka (20), Laura Fazlija (10), Shpat Zeka (10). From karate is Heridind Nishevci with 60 points, and from bodybuilding comes Jetmir Goqi (35 points) and Gentiana Beqa (30 points).
Judists coach Driton Kuka, the Olympic champion, has won 131.5 points, based on the successes of the top-mentioned Judists. In coaching categories are also Albanian Zogiani (30 points), Heroid Nishevci coach and Burim Ramiqi (17.5 points) by Dren Beqa (15 points), bodybuilding trainers.
Other federations were not assessed due to their failure to develop their activities in the past year, while some were not granted MKRS license.
Gazmend Maxhuni, a member of the Commission, attended the conference while part of the Commission was also Agron Kuka, Albanian Zogiani and the Krasniqi Framework.
Categorization was done under the Order for the categories of sports, athletes and trainers.
