Serbian National Council “in Montenegro will launch an initiative towards the Montenegrin government, seeking to retain recognition of the state of Kosovo.
The president of this Council, Momcilo Vuksanovic, has said that the request to the Montenegrin government would be the decision for citizens of this state to be declared through the referendum, whether they want recognition of Kosovo state, or not, it broadcasts Insander.
He has even expressed conviction that the decision on Kosovo's recognition has been against the will of 85% of Montenegro's citizens, since according to him, this is their number that do not want Kosovo state.
Vuksanovic believes there is no better evidence that the decision is illegal, because according to him, because there has been no will to measure the citizens' opinion, the recognition decision has been entirely individual and for the interests of Montenegro's leaders.
The SNS leader believes there are numerous political reasons for canceling the recognition of the so-called independent state of Kosovo.
He has said that tensioning relations between Montenegro and Serbia, and opposing the border point between Kosovo and Montenegro, are only two reasons to send to the decision to annul Kosovo's recognition.
The recognition has strained relations between Montenegro and Serbia, and Montenegrin politics seemed totally contrary to Serbia, which so far has never been the case, would be appropriate to remember relations between Montenegro and Serbia are based on a sound basis, Vuksanovic said.
The SNS will, as Vuksanovic said, start calling for a referendum as soon as possible, in line with Montenegro's Constitution.
That is possible if the initiative is backed by at least 25 deputies, or at least 10 per cent of citizens rightly vote, he added.
