The Gjakova Foundation Court today has declared Fatmir Limaj innocent, charged in the case of Ramiz Hoxha and Selman Binish, known as the Bellanica case.
The court has failed to prove that the accused has been aware of the actions some KLA soldiers have committed. The court has also considered that it contains no elements of the criminal work for which the current deputy prime minister is charged.
Limaj was charged by the prosecution as commander of the KLA's 121st Brigade, has not taken reasonable and necessary measures within his competencies to prevent, or to stop the murder of Ramiz Hodza and Selman Binish, Periscopi reports.
At the last trial hearing, Limaj has declared he is innocent about the charges, saying he has been convinced of innocence from the start.
I've been convinced of innocence since there was no evidence, but I'm convinced that the prosecution itself knew there was no evidence. Even if the court review failed to find the taskmaster, and the commanding officer, I consider that for damaged families it has been satisphation, as evidenced that the tendency to embed has been unsuccessful”, Limaj said. /Periscopi/
