Erdogan and Trump have also confirmed increased co-operation as allies.

As part of their conversation were demonstrations near Gaza's belt on the border with Israel.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians have blocked the Gaza belt border as they are seeking return to their homes, reports “Hurriyet”, Periscopi broadcast.

Meanwhile, Turkish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Umit Yalcin has met with US Secretary John J. Sullivan in Washington on 30 March after NATO allies confirmed their commitment to address common concerns in the spirit of partnership.

The two reviewed the current state of Turkish-American relations and agreed to continue efforts in resolving key issues affecting bilateral ties, according to information received by the Turkish foreign ministry.
