Turkey's President, Recep Tayip Erdoğan criticised NATO, ordering that Turkey has responded to NATO calls in many countries, while NATO today is not in the Syria region, reports the Anadolu Agency (AA).

Erdoğan stayed in the southern Turkish town of Mersin, where he spoke at the ruling Justice and Development Party Congress ( AK Party. Focusing on the Turkish president's speech were events in Syria, while on this occasion, it criticised NATO accounts.

“Where is NATO? We fight so much here. Isn't Turkey a NATO member? Where are you? In Afghanistan he immediately summoned all NATO members, and what is with Syria? NATO member states in Syria would have the strength to oppose us, but they dare not because they see Turkey's fair position”, Erduğan said, adding:

Whatever we wanted. You called us to Afghanistan, you called us to Somalia, you called us into the Balkans. Now we call you, come, come to Syria. Why don't you come?

Speaking of the “Dega operation of Oliver”, which Turkish forces implement in northern Syria, Erdoğan confirmed that at least 3,212 terrorists have so far been neutralised.

He added that this operation continues slowly due to Turkey's care of civilians. “If we, both terrorists and some countries, put aside conscience, morality and sensitivity, taking Africa would be a three-day job”, Turkey's president stressed.

He said his country does not claim any territory, but that this territory must be cleared of terrorists. We currently have 850 square miles under control. The goal is to put 2,000 square miles of” under control, Erdoğan said, and added: “What we want is not someone's territory, but to clear that space from terrorists. Where terrorists appear, we're there”
