Border Management Centre visited by US Army delegation

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Isa Xhemajlaj, a quality of the Nacional Border Integrated Management Coordinator, hosted a US Army delegation for Europe” today. U n SECOM” and officials from Zagreb's Centre for Security” Racvicac”, with which they co-ordinated the National Border Management Centre(QKMK).

In this case Deputy Prime Minister Xhemajlaj stressed that KPC is the only one in the region in which three law enforcement agencies, such as Kosovo Police, Kosovo Customs and the Veterina and Food Agency co-ordinate activities. He said this centre functions 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

This is a mechanism in terms of combating cross-border crime and helping to report suspicious cases to all forms of communication available. This centre has also been built thanks to the aid the United States has provided”, Xhemajlaj said.

During this visit, the US delegation was satisfied with the progress achieved by Kosovo security mechanisms, noting the importance of co-operation for efficient and effective co-ordination in preventing illegal activities that take place both at the border and within the territory, China reports.
