Bad news for visa liberalisation, Kosovo among the world's 10 most corrupt nations

Kosovo and Albania are in the group of the most corrupt countries in the world. As Kosovo on the list of 149 countries in the world, included in the survey, ranks ninth, Albania ranks nineteenth. This is the bad news for visa liberalisation for Kosovars, as apart from Demarketing, the condition is to combat crime [...]

According to the newspaper “Monitor” of Tirana, which has processed the Gallup poll data under the Happiness Index, Albania is one of the countries where the perception of corruption by its citizens is among the highest in the world, according to the sub-index of corruption, measured as part of the recently released Happiness Index by the United Nations.

One of the indicators that served to measure the happiness index was the perceived level of corruption. The international polling company Gallup surveyed about 1,000 individuals in about 150 countries in the world. In the corruption index, perception was measured through two questions: “is corruption widespread in government or not?” and “Is corruption widespread in businesses?” The lower the index, the higher the perception of corruption.

“Monitor” has processed data released online by the World Happiness Report, published two days ago, resulting in Albania's perception of corruption received a score of 0.032, ranking 19th among the states whose citizens think they are “zhtura” in corruption.

States with the highest perception of corruption in the world are Lihuania, Bulgaria, Ukraine. Of the countries in the region, Kosovo is worse than we are, while even in the neighbouring state, Italy, citizens' perception of corruption is very high.

The countries respective citizens think there is a low level of corruption are Singapore, Denmark, Finland, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland. These are the resulting states and the first in the order index of happiness.

While Albania, in the 2018 report, resulted in the most unhappy in Europe and among the 10 countries in the world, which had marked the worst deterioration in the last three years. http://wme.monitor.al/raporti-happiness-show-Progress-Albanian-e-un-e-e-europe-nder-the-the-high-in-world integration/

The indicators on which the index is based take per capita income, expectations for a healthy life, support from friends and relatives, charity data, freedom to make choices in life and perceived levels of corruption, indicators for which Albanians seem to result in the most unhappy in the region and Europe.

In addition to corruption, Albania ranks badly in the social support index (19th from the end), where individuals have been asked: “If you were in trouble, do you have relatives or friends on where you can rely to help you when you need it?”

Our country is best represented in the expectations of a healthy life at birth (cauted by the World Health Organization's data) and the freedom to make choices in life, with the question “Are you satisfied or unhappy with the freedom to choose what you want to do in life?”

In the per capita income index, measured according to purchasing power, where the report has processed World Bank data, Albania is 83rd in the world, leaving only Bosnia (84) and Kosovo (91). But, although the poorest and with high perception of corruption, in the happiness index Kosovo was the first in the region, instead of 66 (Albania was in place of 112, Bosnia is in 93, Macedonia instead of 89, Montenegro instead of 81, Serbia instead of 78). /Monitor
