Seven American soldiers were confirmed dead after the helicopter crashed west of Iraq.
The event, which happened the day before, was confirmed by the Pentagon. Helicopter HH-60 Pave Hawk has collapsed near al-Qaim, a town in the province of Anbar, near the Syrian border. The helicopter allegedly hit an electric line and then fell.
The Pentagon statement says that the event is accidental and has nothing to do with an attack.
Later, there was also a reaction from American President Donald Trump, who expressed comfort to the families of the victims.
