The old +381 phone code removed from March 24th

Kosovo's Telekom announces public opinion that in the implementation of the migration plan drafted by the ARKEP for the implementation of the state code +383, from March 24th 2018 will remove the old +381 code. The +381 code has been used by Kosovo Telecom for fixed phone since the post-war in the absence of the Kosovo state code. By February of last year, Kosovo's Telekom has introduced the state code +383, in parallel to code 381.
The telecommunication agreement reached between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia with the European Union's mediation has enabled the ITU to establish/amplify Kosovo's 383 phone code, specifying that the ARKEP will be the only administrator of the codes and will communicate and co-ordinate relevant activities with the ITU.
Under this agreement, the +383 phone code is the only telephone code to be used in the Republic of Kosovo after the transitional period, respectively, for the migrations envisioned by ARKEP.
“In the application of the migration plan drafted by ARKEP for implementation of the +383 code, Kosovo Telecom has consistently taken all relevant technical and operational actions to functioning the use of the new code and the final removal of the +381x1> code, Zv said. He also underlined that many obstacles Kosovo Telekom has so far had tolerated and in these new circumstances already created with the new code, beneficial will be directly Kosovo citizens and the state of Kosovo itself.
