Zvicerani bequeaths Albanian firm with many traditions

It is Mark John, who in 1987 joined the family in Amriswell, Switzerland's Thurgiau Canton, where he grew up and educated. The gent for “mler” (bojagi) had started in Amriswill. By 2004 he had moved to Kaltrun, where he already leads the Swiss firm, in which he had started working as a worker.

From 2004 to 2009, he had worked only as a miner, and after his boss had died, his widow had decided that the firm was to be passed on to Albanians by Gjakova. In this way Mark becomes the third generation to inherit the firm “Quister”.

I wasn't prepared for business, it all happened in two weeks. The firm exists for 80 years so I'll be the third generation” says proudly, Mark John.

8 years of leadership have not been easy for Mark when it is known that it is a provincial circle, or a municipality of 4 thousand people.

“It has had to show itself that I can, making business policies to preserve Swiss clientele”, John points out by showing he does more business with Swiss people.

In this settlement, most firms are Swiss, but Mark continues to do work for big clients like Bank Linth and so on. The same bank, where it's the main seat, had been founded inside and out even in Uznach.

Just like clients he mentions the regional hospital, the home of the elders, the Kaltbun municipality, etc.

Competition is not small. Seven Swiss firms of the same event operate in this settlement.

I was able to show with great commitment and responsibility that we as Albanians here in Switzerland are integrated and that we are competently carrying out our duties perhaps better than the local” Mark indicates.

John admits: The firm's name has helped me with “i get legs”

He does not deny that the Swiss name of the firm has helped him first to walk in business, but later had been discovered very soon that he is already an Albanian of origin from Kosovo.

All this success had been accomplished by mutual confidence with the local people.

For me, it was also my pride that I represented Albanians by showing that we know and manage to do it”, Mark claims. He says he won't change the name of the firm even though he has this opportunity.

The firm “Kuster” is identified with the Kuster family who had inherited it from generation after generation.

There are some people who, when they call me on the phone, notice that it's not the Custer family that runs with the firm”.
